Moneybrother is back with his brand new album “Classic Vintage,” his first English-language work in 13 years. The name of the album says it all. The artist himself describes the creative process as a conscious decision against the pressure to sound new: “When I write songs […] ‘How can I make this sound new? ’ I’m so damn tired of thinking that way. So this time I thought, ‘How can I make this sound old? ’ I call the album Classic Vintage because that’s exactly what it is.”
A perfect example of this idea is the first single, “Cold Where I’m Living.” It showcases Moneybrother’s curiosity for musical influences, his typically intense vocals, and catchy melodies. The song is the direct embodiment of his philosophy: “‘Cold Where I’m Living’ is old music, recorded in an old studio, by old people with old instruments. It felt surprisingly refreshing.”
